<font size="4" face="Arial">Ahhh...the master of allusion. LOL Well, yes, I did go to see Bush's speech last week, and a damn fine speech it was! It's a shame he didn't use that speech during the debates; it would've made "his opponent" look even worse. (Bilateral peace talks between FOUR countries, anyone?) Hate to get off on a political tangent here, but I've seen a few posts on here that raised my hackles a mite...I'll be the first to admit that George W is not flawless, and he has made some major mistakes. But one thing I can't help but admire is that he's got backbone, and isn't afraid to show it. For example, he kicked off the appearance with prayer. To those who whine, cry, bitch and moan that he shouldn't endorse religion in a political situation, hey, to be frank, fuck you. One of the things that's so great about this country is the ability to have freedom of beliefs. No, this doesn't give ANYONE the right to force their beliefs on others, but on the same token, America WAS founded under God. That's not elitism or forced religion, it's FACT.

But I digress...nope, I didn't personally get to meet Bush, but my dad did. As the local hosting mayor, he had to introduce Bush. One of the perks was getting to hang with the Pres for about 15 minutes, one-on-one, beforehand. LOL It really freaked him out, too, because he totally choked in the first part of the introduction. I was right up front with my bro. It was a great experience, minus having to stand around for about 3 hours beforehand. Probably the coolest part of all, though, was right after Bush got done talking and was coming off the stage. He shooed his Secret Service goons aside and just wandered right out into the crowd to shake hands with people. That, too me, was such a cool thing to do (not to mention risky). I got to look him right in the eye, was about 5 feet away...and he's nowhere near as tall as I thought LOL All in all, a great experience. Viva la Presidente!
